John Birkenshaw, Chairman of Raid-control, receives award from Adam Wiseberg, Chairman of BSIA:
Raid-control wins BSIA "Contribution to the Community" Award

"Raid-control epitomises what can be achieved through partnership within the wider policing family. It has played a significant role in reducing robbery in small retail outlets at the heart of communities."

- David Dickinson, Chief Executive Officer, British Security Industry Association

Raid-control is a partnership initiative between the Police, the trade association for the security industry (British Security Industry Association) and representatives from the insurance and retail sectors, and other trade associations. "Raid-control is an exciting approach to reducing crime; it worked for us and I can see it working for pharmacies in other parts of the country and in other retail premises."

- Andrew McCoig, Owner of two Chemists shops in Croydon.

ACC Seabridge on Raid-control:
"Winning these awards is a major achievement and it demonstrates the commitment of these members of staff in reducing retail robberies. Over the last two years we have implemented Raid-control in retail outlets across Greater Manchester and it is extremely satisfying to see the excellent results it has achieved so far, particularly in Stockport. The impact on the people involved in a robbery is of greatest concern to us, but being able to help tackle this crime through Raid-control is starting to make a real difference."

- Assistant Chief Constable Ian Seabridge, Greater Manchester Police
