Choosing a Supplier

To receive Raid-Control Certification from the Police, your premises must achieve the required standards in the following compulsory elements:

  • Robbery Awareness Training
  • Cash Minimisation
  • Time Delayed Systems
  • Image Capture Systems (Cameras)
  • Indelible Staining and Note Marking Equipment

When your local CPO visits your premises he will confirm the options open to you, including the use of any existing equipment, and the choices you have in purchasing new equipment.

Purchase new equipment from an accredited supplier. – Check with the BSIA website, Master Locksmiths Association etc. – Links are available from the home page.

Make sure you obtain at least three written quotes.

Liaise with other retailers in your area who have purchased equipment and look at the equipment installed.

Liaise with your insurers prior to installing new security systems or enhancing your current security installations to ensure they accept the additions or alterations.

It is essential that all security equipment installed is maintained and tested on a regular basis in line with the manufacturer’s instructions and that staff are regularly trained in the correct operation of all security systems. Ask any prospective supplier what help they can provide in the training and maintenance of the products they provide.
