Proceedure |
To receive Raid-Control
Certification from the Police, your premises must achieve the required
standards in the following compulsory elements:
- Robbery Awareness
Training
- Cash Minimisation
- Time Delayed Systems
- Image Capture Systems (Cameras)
- Indelible Staining and Note Marking
Equipment
- Contact your local CPO using the email form on
this web site and arrange for him to visit your premises.
- During
the visit, he will discuss the aims and objectives of certification
and how best to achieve it. He will confirm the
options open to you,
including the use of any existing equipment, and the choices
you have in purchasing new equipment.
- He will then help you
to fill out a questionnaire that will clarify the position of
your premises in regard to the five
required elements
. He will leave a training pack.
- Liaise with your insurers
prior to installing new security systems or enhancing your current
security installations
to ensure they accept
the additions or alterations.
- Purchase new equipment from an accredited supplier. Check with the BSIA,
NSI, SSAIB, Master Locksmiths Association and your local Chamber of Commerce.
Make sure you:
> Obtain at least three quotes.
> Liaise with other retailers in your area who have purchased equipment
and look at the equipment installed.
- Implement the Robbery
training package, ensuring all staff – including
part time/Saturday staff are included.
- Contact your
CPO and confirm whether you wish to apply for certification.
- He will generate
a report from your questionnaire and arrange for a visit.
- The
CPO will visit your premises with the report from your questionnaire.
If you have implemented
all the recommendations
and achieved the
required standards, you will receive a sticker
confirming your
inclusion in the scheme.
- This sticker will be
signed and dated on the reverse to confirm its authenticity.
It
is essential that:
> All security equipment installed is maintained
and tested on a regular basis in line with the manufacturer’s
instructions.
> Staff are regularly trained in the correct operation
of all security systems.
